Great efforts have been made to hit the right balance with the site, and not to “bore” the visitor with too much Parish Council jargon.
Having said that, it is hoped that the Council and Members (and Documents) pages will satisfy the appetite of those who are interested in what their elected representatives are doing on their behalf.
The Gurnard Village pages give a brief flavour of a trip through the Village, from Rew Street into the Village itself.
The News pages will hopefully be regularly updated with news as it affects both the Village and the Parish Council, and will also give details of any current projects being undertaken.
The Forum page was an experiment to see if the residents can be encouraged to engage in communication with the Parish Council and also with each other on community issues and it is being used internittently. The Parish Clerk acts as Moderator to ensure nothing unpleasant appears on the site, and it is hoped that some really positive input and expression of views might take place once residents get used to using the Forum!
The Directory pages feature all those local businesses and organisations in the Village that have given their details to the Webmaster. It is hoped that this will not only be of interest locally, but also to those who may visit the site prior to holidaying here or just planning a visit to the Island.
The Documents pages will list Council minutes, as well as working party activity reports, adopted policies and other various documents for downloading.
