Moving more is one of the best things you can do for your health and wellbeing, so Wessex Cancer Trust wants you to put a spring in your step this May and be more active, whilst raising money for local families living with cancer.
Cait Allen, Wessex Cancer Trustās CEO, says Move It May is for everyone, whatever your age or level of fitness and wherever you want to do it:
āBeing physically active can help to protect against cancer, improve your long-term health and make you feel great. But it can be daunting if you havenāt exercised for a while or youāre not sure what to do. Simply walking more and sitting less can be hugely beneficial, so weāve designed Move It May for everyone. Itās up to you how you decide to move more and raise money for local families living with cancer. It could be anything from setting yourself a goal to complete a certain number of steps, to tackling an ultramarathon. Weād love to see younger members of the family getting involved too, perhaps by doing a sponsored scoot or hula-hoop. Just Ā£100 could pay for a monthās supply of the products needed for the complementary therapies we provide in our cancer Support Centres. Raising Ā£400 could fund a ten session one-to-one support package to help manage the emotional impact of cancer.ā
