The Isle of Wight Council are currently consulting on proposals to charge for parking on Gurnard seafront between Egypt Hill and Woodvale Road, and a ‘no waiting’ restriction on the landward (southern) side of the Esplanade.
This will have a huge knock on effect for Gurnard Residents, from seafront users trying to avoid charges by parking in local residential roads.
The tariffs for the ‘Pay and Display’ between 10am and 6pm will be:
Up to 1 hour £1.70
1-2 hours £2.90
2-4 hours £4.80
4-6 hours £6.20
6-8 hours £8.60
All evenings between 6pm and 10am £1.00 per visit
It is the Isle of Wight Council’s intention that charges will apply 24 hours, 365 days of the year.
Gurnard Parish Council strongly oppose these proposals.
